Volunteer
The Friends of the Central Library are seeking volunteers to work in the Friends’ Bookstore. We are looking for people who can work 2-5 hours during the day, weekly or monthly. Bookstore volunteers greet customers, help them find books, and handle sales. They are responsible for keeping the bookshelves filled and organized, and setting up special displays. Some volunteers also handle and sort incoming book donations. We welcome outgoing, organized people to staff the Bookstore; and also need volunteers to sort and shelve books behind the scenes outside of bookstore hours, as well as to help with online sales. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the bookstore at 619-238-6655, stop by and fill out an application, or click here for an online volunteer application form. An interview will be conducted to match potential volunteers to current opportunities.
