Dean Glass will speak on June 3 from 11:30-1PM about his book, The History & Mystery of the Whaley House, as part of the Friends of the Central Library’s Writers to Watch program.

The History & Mystery of the Whaley House illuminates the history of the pioneer Whaley family and their magnificent 1850s brick mansion, dispelling myths and providing rediscovered facts and information about this popular tourist destination, and of the spirits known to inhabit it. Journals, letters, historical documents, dozens of fascinating historic photographs, and other ephemera culled from the Whaley House archives help convey the legend of this remarkable historic house museum.

Dean Glass is the Administrative Manager of Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO), a San Diego-based historic preservation nonprofit, and is an Associate Editor of and contributor to SOHO’s Our Heritage magazine. An enthusiast of San Diego’s Whaley House Museum for over forty years, he now serves as Whaley House Historian and is a member of the museum’s curatorial team.
